Elon Musk is many things. Billionaire car tycoon, serial baby maker, space rocket fetishist, alien civilization believer, monkey abuser, and Lord of Twitter. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he is also the greatest loser in history.
Musk has officially broken the record for losing the biggest personal fortune in history. Between romancing his brainy assistant and fighting random people on Twitter since November 2021, Musk has lost a staggering $182 billion. That's far more than the entire net worth of Gautam Adani, India's richest man.
In 2021, Musk was worth $320 billion, but as of January's first week, his fortune had shrunk to $138 billion. The previous biggest loser was Softbank's Masayoshi San, whose net worth plummeted by around $58 billion in just about six months back in 2020.
At the moment, the world's richest man is luxury magnate Bernard Arnault, who owns the Louis Vuitton group of brands. You can read more about poor Elon's misfortunes here.
