Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman claims Apple is launching new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro this week. The announcement likely happens on January 17, while the first round of review and hands-on content from your favorite tech YouTuber arrives next Monday.
Don't expect any snazzy design makeover, boi! Apple is as lazy at changing product designs as you are at refreshing your winter hoodie collection. But hey, the design we got on the 2021 MacBook Pro is not bad at all.
The metallic chassis is sexy, the keyboard is amazing, there's a healthy number of ports, and a gorgeous display to watch science videos on OnlyFans. The notch, well, it's terrible.
Things are changing inside, however. The new laptops will feature Apple's next-gen M2 Pro and M2 Max chips. For comparison, the M1 Max had 10 CPU cores and 32 GPU cores. The M2 Max is said to offer 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores.
The upgrades may not sound big enough to build a quantum computer that can hack entire humanity's brain, but it would still be the fastest laptop chip in the market. Just don't expect it to come cheap, duh!
