Samsung wants you to believe that you need a 200-megapixel camera on your phone – and in your life – to click photos and wow your three Instagram mutuals. Out of that necessity, came the invention called the Galaxy S23 Ultra. First things first. God darn it, look at that beautiful pink color!
The new Samsung phone looks the same as the Galaxy S22 Ultra from last year, but there are some new colors this time around to jazz up the marketing. Just in case you care, the 120Hz OLED screen measures 6.8 inches, about the same size as an average banana on a roadside cart.
The biggest upgrade is a 200-megapixel camera that can record 8K videos, too. Lord knows where you will play those 8K videos, though. There's a 12-megapixel camera at the back for ultrawide photos, and a couple of 10-megapixel zoom cameras.
One of them offers 3x optical zooming capability, while the other one relies on fancy folded lens tech to allow 10x optical and 100x digital zoom. That's enough to discern the moon's craters, but not enough to look inside your crush's heart. To click selfies with pink skin and grey eye filters, you get a 10-megapixel snapper.
The second biggest upgrade is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which actually beats the iPhone 14 Pro's A16 Bionic at a handful of performance tests. At last! The battery capacity is 5,000mAh, but you don't get any charger in the box. Come on, Samsung!
You can pick between Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender colors. Storage options are 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, because there are some batshit crazy people out there who can fill up that many gigabytes of storage ON A FORKIN PHONE.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra starts at Rs. 1,24,999 and it will be available both online, and in retail outlets, February 17 onwards.
In the meanwhile, here are a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure.
