Welp, the season of fresh (arguably) hardware is here folks, and Samsung is here to start 2024 with a bang. This is the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the newest camera-centric phone from Samsung that looks just like the Galaxy S23 Ultra. To Samsung's credit, it is now made out of Titanium (cuz Apple did it, of course) and there are new colors, too. Yay!

But this is more of an AI trickster than a hardware beast. Samsung calls it Galaxy AI, cuz, well, it sounds cool. You can chat with a student or colleague from halfway across the globe with Live Translate. Fancy a phone call while lounging on a beach in a foreign land? No problem! This tool gives you real-time voice and text translations right in the native app.

And for those face-to-face meetings where you don't speak a word of each other's language, there's an Interpreter feature. Just imagine: you're standing there, awkwardly staring at each other, while your phones do all the talking on a split-screen mode. The best part? It doesn't even need the internet.

Generative Edit will fill in the gaps, straighten your wonky shots, and even teleport people and objects around in your photos. It's like Photoshop for dummies, and with a watermark to prove that it's all AI magic. And for those action-packed videos that are just too fast to appreciate, there's Instant Slow-mo. adds extra frames to make everything look super smooth and dramatic.

Here's a brief rundown of the innards, which aren't too saucy as the only meaningful new addition is the new processor inside. The Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts a 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 120Hz display. It draws power from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with 12GB memory and up to 1TB storage.

The imaging setup includes a 12MP Ultra-Wide camera (F2.2 aperture / 120˚ field of view), a 200MP main snapper (OIS / F1.7 / 85˚ field of view), a 50MP telephoto camera (5x Optical Zoom / OIS F3.4 aperture), and a 10MP telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom range. Selfie and video calling duties are deputed to a 12MP camera.

The battery charging pace can go up to 45W (up to 65% charge in about 30 minutes), but the charger doesn't come in the box of this uber-expensive phone. Darn you, capitalism. Sales kick off by the end of this month, while color options on the table are Titanium Gray, Black, Titanium Violet, and Titanium Yellow.
